Youth aviation sponsorship

The MYL High Flying Club runs a youth sponsorship program that enables a selected local student to complete pilot training through the McCall Youth Learning Aviation Fund — elevating opportunities for McCall students since 2017.

McCall Youth Learning Aviation Fund

Flight training is expensive, and for a student in a small mountain town it can feel out of reach entirely. MYLAF pairs local students with funding, aircraft and experienced club mentors so that the path from a first discovery flight to a Private Pilot certificate is a realistic one. Club partners volunteer their time, and the club backs the program with a youth sponsorship each year.

Where it started

"Ever since I was young, I have always liked the idea of being a pilot. I enjoyed any exposure I was able to experience, whether it was at a commercial airport or watching airplanes fly overhead. I loved airplanes but it always seemed farfetched, and I didn't know how to pursue it."

Where it led

"McCall Youth Learning Aviation (MYLAF) provided me with an affordable way to complete my training. The experience and professionalism of the partners involved was invaluable. The amount of passion, detail and their willingness to help support me made all the difference."
"Earning my Private Pilot's License has been such a huge step towards my commercial pilot career, and I will never forget the people I have met and the skills I've been able to learn, in huge part thanks to MYLAF."

Support the next student

Every partnership in the MYL High Flying Club helps keep the airplanes flying and the sponsorship funded. If you would like to contribute through a tax deductible donation, mentor a student, or learn more about the program, reach out to the club — we are always looking for partners willing to mentor the next student.
